The Harlequins Foundation are excited to announce the return of our ever popular Satellite HUB Clubs this autumn.
Earlier in the year, like many other local sports clubs and leisure venues, sadly we had to make the difficult decision to postpone our evening HUB Clubs due to the impact of COVID-19. Throughout the summer months, the team worked tirelessly to continue their support for children & young people and as a result we adapted the HUB clubs and took our sessions online!
We continued to keep a close eye on government guidance, thankfully we were able to provide something a bit closer to ‘normal’ over the summer holidays as we offered hundreds of local young people the chance to join one of our free Summer Sport Weeks.
Thankfully that meant we could still engage with local young people to support them through a particularly difficult time, using sport & physical activities to develop essential skills such as Staying Positive, Teamwork and Creativity. Taking inspiration from one of flagship schools programmes, METTLE, our dedicated team of coaches took the opportunity to support young people, and their families, to develop helpful resilience skills thanks to our partnership with Believe Perform.
Since then, we can (very happily) announce that our ‘in-person’ Satellite HUB Clubs are making a safe return to play this Autumn. Paying close attention to the latest advice and guidance from Sport England, the RFU and UK Government, we’ll be providing 4-week sports & fitness bootcamps to local young people ages 12-18.
Designed to be fun, active and engaging, these outdoor sessions will include something for everybody to enjoy and will be based at grassroots rugby clubs in the heart of our local communities.
