During the ongoing situation with COVID-19, we at The Harlequins Foundation are determined to support our community in continuing to remain fit and active. Our Wellbeing Coach, Hollie Smith, has put together a range of workouts accessible for everyone, regardless of ability or fitness level.  

Hollie’s workouts are based on the Tabata system.  Tabata training was discovered by Japanese scientist Dr. Izumi Tabata and a team of researchers from the National Institute of Fitness and Sports in Tokyo. Dr Tabata and his team conducted research on two groups of athlete and discovered that the high-intensity interval training has more impact on both the aerobic and anaerobic systems. Typically, TABATA is 20 seconds of work, 10 seconds rest for 8 rounds, but we have adapted it to 40 seconds of work and 20 seconds rest to keep things exciting!!
