Switch into Sport go ‘Big’ at Big Game 12

A group of young people participating in The Harlequins Foundation’s Switch into Sport Programme attended Big Game 12 to volunteer their time and collect donations in the West Fan Village to support their continued participation in the programme. Switch into Sport, part of The Foundation’s Flagship Switch programme, is a female leadership programme that uses rugby as a vehicle to support young people’s development.

The programme that covers several themes throughout the season, including the coaching of tag rugby, will culminate in an international trip to the Hou-li province of Taiwan where they will put their coaching skills into practice for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Their collections from the West Fan Village came in at £2,255.91 which will go a long way to supporting their international trip in summer 2020.

Head of Foundation, Marc Leckie, said “It was wonderful to see the girls taking on the challenge with such enthusiasm and raising such an incredible amount of money”.

If you want to support the young people to achieve their ambition you can donate HERE and enter SiS in the ‘Suffix’ Box.
