It is with great pleasure that we can announce that Nick Heath has agreed to support The Harlequins Foundation by accepting a role as an ambassador.

A bit of background:

Nick has been a broadcaster, primarily in rugby union, for around ten years. He has commentated on international and club rugby for all major broadcasters on TV, radio and online for competitions such as the Rugby World Cup, Rugby Championship, 6 Nations, Champions Cup and Gallagher Premiership.

As well as commentary, Nick has been the match announcer at several stadia including for Harlequins for the 2016/17 season at The Stoop. He was also a key part of February’s recent Pride match, chairing the panel discussion in the members’ bar prior to the game. As well as being a well-known voice he is also a talented rugby player, representing England in the 2018 European touch rugby tournament.

Nick stated “It’s a tremendous honour to be asked to become a Harlequins Foundation ambassador. When I worked at the club, the match day role often allowed me to witness many of the great projects and people that benefited from through the Foundation’s work.”

“Sport has the power to change lives. Rugby’s values are a key part of why it should be capable of achieving so much. I hope to be able to contribute to the impact of the Foundation and where possible, use my experiences to help better the lives of others. Whether that’s through my work as a broadcaster or my personal experience as a member of the LGBT community. Harlequins has always struck me as a friendly, family-oriented club and it’s a privilege to strengthen my association with them.”

The need for an ambassador programme:

Marc Leckie commented, “Any organisation requires a number of elements to become successful. One major aspect is to have ambassadors across sectors and who are representative of the communities we work with. Nick was an easy choice for me to approach as he has taken a keen interest in our work, loves his rugby and is a great guy. I am really pleased he has accepted the invitation and I am confident he will be a great addition to the team.”
