Tackling Inequality – LGBTQ+ Representation: Sport as a starting point

25th February 2021 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

The Harlequins Foundation are delighted to launch the latest in a series of webinars exploring key themes of equality, diversity, and inclusion, and how we as the sports sector can use our platform to help improve representation at every level.

For our first webinar, focusing on LGBTQ+ representation in sport, we’re pleased to be joined by Dr Ben Colliver, from the School of Social Sciences at Birmingham City University, who will be giving a short talk, before opening up for a Q&A.

Ben’s research looks at Hate Crime and violence against minority groups, with a specific focus on LGBTQ+ communities. His PhD focused on discrimination and hate crime targeting transgender and non-binary communities, with a specific interest in online interactions.

Ben has a range of teaching experience in different settings including pupil referral units, colleges and university. He has experience of working within LGBTQ support services, advocating for changes to education, healthcare and hate crime reporting. He was also part of a successful Tackling Inequality online seminar series delivered to professional Football Clubs and Trusts during the first ‘lockdown’.

Places on the webinar are free but strictly limited, so book yours’ today and don’t miss out!

THIS EVENT HAS NOW SOLD OUT.

A full recording will be provided after the event, so don’t worry if you’ve missed out.
