With the outbreak of Covid – 19, our HITZ programme, an education provision for young people who are NEET (not in education, employment or training) has gone fully remote. This enables learners to still access the programme and continue with their education. The programme is running as normal as possible with learners accessing live teaching sessions via an online platform.

Lessons remain the same, the delivery of main aim in the morning with various check points throughout the day, by having 1:1 catch up sessions with learners throughout the day we are creating an extra layer of support to enable these young people to best succeed. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons consit of a Maths and English lesson.

We are continuing to run an enrichment programme, this is being done by setting various challenges and fitness sessions for the learners to complete.

We have had lots of positive feedback from parents and young people who have thanked the foundation for the time and dedication we have put in and the transition from face to face delivery to online delivery.

A parent of one of our participants said this: “I wanted to say a huge thank you to Danny and the team for keeping this imperative learning zone going; it doesn’t sound easy.

“Gabriel has thus far enjoyed this course more than his secondary school experience. Go well, stay well.”
