2019/20 Brighter Future Grants awarded

The Harlequins Foundation are delighted to confirm that 4 organisations have successfully secured funding as part of the Foundations Brighter Futures Grant Programme. The Brighter Futures Grant Programme was established by the Foundation to provide support for local organisations, in the London Borough of Richmond to do something they couldn’t ordinarily afford, such as the purchasing of equipment or the improvement of facilities. Following this year’s round of applications, we are delighted to announce the successful applications are:

Tag Youth Club– a local charity that offers young people with special education needs and disabilities a weekly opportunity to socialise and enjoy a range of activities from Ham Youth Club. This grant will enable them to purchase the eye gaze system, ultimately, making their sessions more accessible for young people.

Grey Court School – a secondary Academy in Richmond, who aim to inspire, educate and encourage all pupils to become the best versions of themselves. This grant will enable them to run a pilot, employing a qualified councillor, to support young people across the schools experiencing mental health problems.

Kids Come First – a charity that works to improve the mental health of families living in Richmond while going through separation. The grant will enable them to provide more workshops and share information about mental wellbeing, supporting financially disadvantaged families in the borough.

MTV Youth –This grant will support the supply and fit of durable artificial grass at the Youth Club. Enabling a range of activities to take place, engaging young people from across the borough in positive activities.

Dominic Coles, Trustee of the Harlequins Foundation, said

“Each year, the Harlequins Foundation awards grants to local schools, clubs and other community projects to help fund activities which support our mission to inspire, educate and equip individuals and communities to change their lives and fulfil their potential. We’re delighted that, yet again, we are able this year to fund some impactful and transformative activities.”
