On Sunday 28th April, former Harlequins Academy player, Will Brinkley completed the London Marathon in 3 hours and 27 minutes. Meanwhile Charlie Pope made it round in 3 hours and 24 minutes.<\/p>\n

Will and Seb Adeniran-Olule played together for the Wellington College First XV, as well as both being members of Harlequins Academy. Will remembers Seb as a team and schoolmate, but also as a dear friend. His decision to make this commitment to Seb\u2019s Foundation also comes because he benefitted from the kind of support that Seb\u2019s Foundation provides.<\/p>\n

So far Will has raised \u00a34,147.01 (plus gift aid), in support of Seb\u2019s Foundation.<\/p>\n

Will said: \u201cSeb and I were both beneficiaries of scholarships, and through running the marathon, I\u2019m trying to help others, so that they can have the same opportunities to realise and fulfil their potential.\u201d<\/p>\n

Seb\u2019s Foundation was established to bring hope from tragedy, following the death of Seb Adeniran-Olule, aged 20, in a road traffic collision in 2016. The Foundation provides opportunities for talented young people who would not otherwise be able to access them because they come from disadvantaged backgrounds by removing financial barriers so that they are able to develop and flourish; as well as by collaborating with key partners to support their mental health and wellbeing.<\/p>\n

Charlie ran to raise funds for the Harlequins Foundation. Among the Harlequins Foundation\u2019s flagship programs, METTLE is focused on improving the physical and mental health of young people while Switch encourages girls to get involved in the sport.<\/p>\n

Reflecting on the race he said \u2018It went well in the end. I\u2019ll be enjoying some well-earned rest before attempting any 20 mile jogs!\u2019<\/p>\n
