The documentary also spotlights two Steelers players\, Simon Jones and Drew McDowell; as well as Nic Evans\, the club’s inspiring female coach at the time. \nThe Kings Cross Steelers began in 1995\, when a group of six friends sat in a pub discussing the possibility of launching a gay rugby club. Today\, it stands tall as the world’s first gay rugby club celebrating its 25-year anniversary. \n‘Steelers’\, which has received positive reviews from The Times and The BBC\, premiers at the Glasgow Film Festival on Friday 26th February to March 1st 2021.
